Hey guys! I was wondering if there was any way we could have a file types for UDK (Unreal Development Kit)?

This would include… .udk (Main Unreal File) .upk (Unreal Package File) .ase (ASCII)

I have some things I would love to upload for udk and get this site swinging more in a game friendly way but there is no support for one of the largest free game engines out there…

Let me know :)

One question, there’s much difference between UDK and Unity?

The two are the most successful free game engines. Unity from what I have seen is a bit newer and it feels targeted towards lighter games. UDK has been around longer and is the engine used to run all of Epic’s games (Gears of War, Unreal Tournament) which is a lot more developed and can handle heavier graphics.

You wouldn’t attempt a “next-gen” game on Unity in otherwords. lol

And do you think it could sell on AD? Because AD is selling just Unity3D, and maybe UDK would help to expand AD’s market.

Unity and the Unreal Editor are the top 2 free engines out there nowadays for making games. It is great that Unity assets are being offered, but that is only half of the market.
