I have never used Cinema 4D, but it could be that Cinema only accepts .hdr files, in which case you can convert it to one using Photoshop.

I am in the process of adding .hdr files to all my hdri skies, if you need the hdr then you should be able to re-download for free

Hi there,

We have purchased this great image to light one of our current 3D scenes, but also can’t get it to work in Cinema 4D. Usually you just load it in to the Luminance channel and that’s it. This loads in but the top half of the image is plain white with no clouds. Just produces plain white lighting. We’ve also tried everything. Thanks.

Just an update. We just want to say thanks to Peter for all his help here and being so quick to reply too.

For anyone else using Cinema 4D: You may need to tweak the ‘exposure’ setting found within the individual material (shader tab) to get usable results, after loading the hdr. image into the Luminance channel.

Great service from Peter and thoroughly recommended. Thanks!

Are you using a physical camera? If not the multiplier for the intensity of the hdri might be way too high.
