Curtis P-36 Hawk, first of the new types of contemporary aircraft at the begging of WW2, with extensive usage of metal, powerful engine, retractable gear and monoplane construction. It saw limited combat at the beginning of WW2 by the USAAF but it was used in colonial air forces in the pacific theater and in France.
