This is a very simple and basic, yet nice looking 3d model of a chicken egg (although it could probably be used for other animals as well). It includes a basic egg-like material with a low-resolution, seamless texture and bump map included. The material’s nothing extremely special, but it looks pretty good. In the download are two different versions of this model: a low poly (good for games) version with 480 tris.; and a high poly (good for film and animation) version with 15,872 tris. Enjoy, and I hope you have as much fun using this as I had making it!
Included in the download: - High poly egg model (15,872 tris.) - Low poly egg model (480 tris.) - Basic egg texture - Basic egg normal texture - .blend, .obj, .fbx, and .3ds files
P.S. I use Blender to do all my animating and 3d modeling. Because of that, some of the extensions don’t export very well (or just don’t import well back into Blender; they might import better into other programs); there are generally a few issues with the formats other than .blend. If you have Blender at all, I recommend just using the .blend file; it’s all set up and everything. – 3DS: Imports with flat shading and without (complete; all the material nodes vanished) materials or textures. It does keep UV maps though. The faces are triangulated, and the low poly model doesn’t smooth properly. – OBJ: Imports without (complete) materials or textures. It does have a UV map still. – FBX: Imports without (complete) materials or textures. Contains a UV map.
