The Sphyrna mokarran or the great hammerhead shark is the largest species of the hammerhead shark’s family. It’s diet includes mostly stingrays, smaller sharks, fishes, crustaceans and cephalopods. Although the attacks on humans are rare, the respect and caution should be given to this species. The long fins of this shark, made it attractive for the Asian market, which lead to the excessive fishing and brought up this species under the endanger list of sea creatures.
