Hello, I was searching for the Collada DAE file inside this model, just asking
It’s in the latest version.
Hi, I just bought this model and I cannot see neither the textured model nor the rig when I import the .obj file in Blender 2.63, please help me…
Keep up the good work…
Hi DigitalDisplay!
.obj files commonly don’t contain that type of data. To see the rig you will need to import the .fbx if that is possible in blender. To see the texture you will most likely need to reassign it to the shader used in blender. (it’s an alpha texture so you need to make sure the alpha channel works as well)
Hope that helps!
Thanks, but as I searched in Google, I will not be able to import the .fbx in Blender, and from what I found the only solution to have one model with texture, rig and animation from Maya to Blender would be to import it as a Collada (.dae) file…
To tell you the truth the reason I bought this model was in part for the texturing as I like the way you texture all your micro low poly model but mainly it was for the rig and the animation.
So do you think you could export this model as this kind of file (.dae) and send it to me?
Thanks in advance, keep up the good work.
Try downloading the model again. I have updated it and it should contain a .dae file now. You are aware though that there is only an idle animation on it right
. Let me know if you have any problems with the file. It’s the first time I export to .dae.
Thanks a lot for helping me.
When I tried to import your .dae file I got this message “Error found during parsing Collada document” and in the end nothing has been imported…
Sorry man, I have been trying to get it to work for the past 2 hours now… looking for exporter scripts for maya and importer scripts for blender to find a workaround, but there really seems to be no way :/. I tried .3ds, but it kinda explodes the bones and offsets them and also does not port the animations… Blender needs an .fbx importer. Try contacting support and see if they will issue a refund in your case.
Sorry for this long delay, I didn’t had any internet connection during this last week end.
Once again thanks a lot for your efforts in helping me out.
It’s okay, I will use your model as is in Blender without the rig and the animation.
By the way I was thinking that maybe you can add one sentence on the Item Details of your Low Poly Micro models explaining that the Blender users will not get access to the rig nor the idle animation when buying those models, to prevent them from having this kind of surprise… Until maybe one day Blender will get and .fbx importer.
Keep up the good work…
I didn’t know Blender had no way of importing FBX files. I added the a note to the items like you suggested.
Awesome, thanks for the good news, and good luck with you project(s) buddy
Cheer up
Hey man, we’re still looking for the animation on these little cute one, how’re they coming so far? (I know you’re still fighting with time, but I had to ask)
Yeah… I’m working on so many things at the moment… :/. Am trying to get help with the animations just to keep things moving forward. I have done a basic animation set for the micro mummy so far but have not uploaded it to 3DO yet. I want to wait until they are all done and check them in a game engine like unity to make sure they work like they are supposed to…
mmm about the animation that will be simple animation like Walk , Look right, Look Left , attack ,Die ,talk , maybe shoot animation (when i append a Gun) Something like that and if i need a custom Character with animation is that possible ?
At the moment I am very short on time so I can not really make any custom characters right now but I need to create animations for the micros as part of a project so they will be updated soon (ish)
mmmm really Great model
how about if i want custom animation can you make some Extra Animations ? and if so how much it will cost me ?
thanks
Hi, yes I can! Actually I am planning on making animation sets for these guys anyhow. My only problem at the moment is time. what kind of animations do you need? If they are animations that are generally useful I can include them on my list.
